Why I haven't written in over a year

Updated: Mar 23

Well, it's simple—I fell in love. ❤️

Many of you have been on quite the journey with me. Because I’ve shared so much on my podcast, I think you already knew what I was going through.

The past four years have been a whirlwind—divorce, breast cancer, and now, love. All the pain, fear, and loneliness? It was worth it. It made me stronger, wiser, and, most importantly, it brought me closer to myself.

A year and a half ago, I did a psilocybin journey—a story for another blog post. But the biggest lesson I took from it was this: trust myself. That might sound small, but for me, it was life-changing. I never had the confidence to be alone, let alone face a cancer diagnosis by myself.

Falling in love is one of the most incredible experiences—it’s exhilarating, transformative, and impossible to fully put into words. That’s why poets, musicians, and artists have spent centuries trying to capture its magic.

But let’s be real—even though it feels magical, life doesn’t pause for love. We still have responsibilities, priorities, and the need to be practical. And practically speaking? Falling in love has changed how I spend my time. I simply don’t have as much of it as I did before.

One of my coaching clients once shared a phrase that stuck with me:“A no for me is a yes for someone else.”

That hit me hard. I’ve felt guilty about not blogging, not finishing my book, and not spending as much time with friends. But that quote helped me shift my perspective. I don’t fall in love often, so I’ve chosen to prioritize this relationship—without guilt.

Now, my question for you is: What do you choose? What are you saying no to?

I’d love to hear what you’re prioritizing.

And as for me? I’m saying yes to sharing more about three things:

  1. My psilocybin experience and what it taught me

  2. My study on embodiment and how it’s reshaping my life

  3. A sneak peek into a few chapters of my book, Amor Fati

I’m also saying yes to something big: I’m launching my website! 🎉SarahBrownCoaching.com will be home to content from my podcast, along with other tools and resources for getting to know yourself better.

More to come soon. ❤️
